To do this, I use python to linearly interpolate between GPS points approximately 3 meters apart. And I do mean very approximately: instead of doing a proper distance calculation, I just eyeball how many meters are in a degree. One meter is very roughly about 0.000009° of latitude. Since one meter is a larger portion of a degree near the poles, it needs to be adjusted based on the latitude.
